Submission Checklist

Authors should read and comply with the full Call for Papers. We have drafted a brief checklist below to help you double-check, but it may not capture every detail, so the full CfP takes precedence. If you think we have missed something important from the CfP in the checklist, we welcome your feedback at pcchairs@satml.org.

Every item below is required, except the few marked Optional. Those marked Required if applicable are required whenever the stated condition holds, and those marked All authors must be carried out by each author individually in HotCRP. All authors remain responsible for the accuracy of the whole submission. Items are grouped by where they belong: the paper PDF, the HotCRP submission form, or an email to the Program Chairs.

Before writing

• Required Scope: safety/trustworthiness engaged throughout, not just the intro. Ask pcchairs@satml.org if unsure.
• Required Category and length: Research 12pp body text; SoK 12pp body text, title starts "SoK:"; Position 5 to 12pp body text, title starts "Position:". References and appendices unlimited.
• Required Format: PDF, \documentclass[conference]{IEEEtran}, 10pt, no change in geometry/template.

By the abstract registration deadline Tue 22 Sep 2026, AoE

🖥️ Everything below is in HotCRP; the paper itself is not due yet.

• Required Title, abstract, authors, affiliations, topics: tentative title, non-blank abstract, final authors, final affiliations (no changes afterwards, not even in the camera-ready version in case of acceptance; see Change of affiliation for exceptions), final topics.
• Required Under review elsewhere: answer the HotCRP field. If the paper is under review elsewhere, that other submission must be resolved (rejected or withdrawn) by the paper submission deadline.
• Required Author-reviewer nomination: nominate one author, by email exactly as listed. The nomination cannot be changed afterwards.
• Required All authors ORCID: in every author's HotCRP profile. This is not completed while this warning shows in HotCRP:Authors (by abstract registration deadline): Some authors haven't added an ORCID iD to their profiles
• Required All authors Author Certification: completed by all authors. This is not completed while this warning shows in HotCRP:Author certification (by abstract registration deadline): Every author must certify to allow review
• Required All authors Conflicts of interest: declare all mandatory conflicts (see "Conflicts of Interest policy"). Fake conflicts are not allowed.

📄 Sections in the paper (PDF)

• Required "Open Science" section: right before the references, describing what you release, or why you cannot (see Open Science). Required for every category, including Position papers.
• Required if applicable "LLM usage considerations" section: after Open Science and before the references, if any LLM was used. It must meet all the criteria in Usage of LLMs, including the required editorial-use statement.
• Required if applicable "Ethical Considerations" section: before the references, if the work poses ethical risks worth discussing (see Ethical Considerations).
• Required if applicable Prior reviews: if the paper received reviews at another venue (e.g., rejected, withdrawn, or accepted in non-archival venues), append the most recent set of reviews received, unedited, at the very end of the paper after all appendices, together with a description of how they were addressed and what changed in the paper since then.Optional You may also include the rebuttal or discussion messages, the name of the venue, and the reviews from earlier submissions if the paper was submitted more than once. The most recent set of reviews received remains compulsory to attach unedited and discuss.

The Open Science, LLM usage considerations, and Ethical Considerations sections, and any appended prior reviews, do not count towards the page limit.

📄 The paper as a whole

• Required Anonymized paper: no names or affiliations, own work cited in third person, no hints that artifacts are already public, all linked material anonymous. Keep essential background citations.
• Required Citations correctness: verify every reference and result yourself. Fabrications count as misconduct. Self-check with hallucinator.science.

🖥️ In HotCRP

• Required All compulsory fields: in the submission form, following the Call for Papers and the description of each field in HotCRP.
• Required Anonymous repository link: e.g. anonymous.4open.science. If the paper has no code, write "See Open Science section": every paper needs that section, even a purely theoretical one.⚠️ These links have a default expiry window: authors are required to set the expiry date to at least 1 March 2027.
• Required "New Insights" field: SoK and Position papers summarise their insights in 300 words; research papers enter "N/A" (see New Insights).
• Required All authors Conflict declarations: every author must have declared their conflicts by the submission deadline. The Program Committee was finalized on 28 September 2026, so check them against the final committee before submitting.
• Required All authors Explanation of any PC Conflict marked as "Other" or "Personal" (one per line): fill in this HotCRP field.
• Required Mark the submission as "Ready for review", and save it. A submission left as a draft is not submitted, and submitting confirms the paper does not overlap with published, accepted, or concurrently submitted work.

• Required if applicable Potential change of author affiliation: affiliations are fixed at abstract registration, and changes are strongly discouraged. Exceptionally, if an author may change affiliation by the decision notification, tell the PC Chairs before the submission deadline and declare the conflicts of the prospective affiliation, following the Change of affiliation policy.

📦 Anonymized artifact(s) updated by Fri 2 Oct 2026, AoE

⚠️ Any change to the artifact after Fri 2 Oct 2026 (AoE) will result in desk rejection. The artifact must remain accessible and unedited for the rest of the review process.

• Optional Last chance to update the anonymous artifact repository linked from your HotCRP submission (e.g. anonymous.4open.science).⚠️ These links have a default expiry window: authors are required to set the expiry date to at least 1 March 2027.

If submission volume triggers contingency measures

• Required Re-check conflicts against an expanded PC if asked, up to 24 hours before the submission deadline.
• Required Be ready to review up to three papers per submission you are nominated on, if that requirement is activated. The load is cumulative across submissions.

If accepted

• Required Camera-ready: mid-February (exact date TBC).
• Required Artifacts on Zenodo, by Thu 14 Jan 2027 (for accepted papers), or the camera-ready deadline (for papers invited to revise, and later accepted).
• Required One author registered at the full rate and presenting in person.

Desk rejection

The grounds for desk rejection are set out in the relevant sections of the Call for Papers. In summary, a paper may be desk rejected for one or more of the following reasons:

• broken anonymity, or self-promotion that reveals author identity
• incorrect format or excessive length
• work that is out of scope, or clearly below the quality bar (after initial review by program and area chairs)
• violations of the Open Science or LLM policies, including non-existent references
• missing author ORCIDs or author certification
• missing prior reviews from a paper that received reviews at another venue
• adding or removing authors or affiliations after abstract registration
• late or inadequate-quality reviews from the nominated author-reviewer, if author-reviewing is activated
